Practice with Sammy


Announcements:

2015 SPRING YOUTH RUGBY PROGRAM: Elementary School Rugby

We will start Elementary School Age Youth Rugby practices on Monday April 6th.
Practice will be in front of NorthWest Middle School on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 6 to 7pm.


Registrations will be done during or after practices. Please come to practice to Register!

Participants just need to wear shorts and a confortable T-shirt, running shoes or cleats.

Practices consist of an introduction to the game and to Youth Rugby.

Players will develop basic techniques of passing, catching, and kicking while playing different games. It will be an hour of fun, running, passing, catching and kicking a ball.

Players will be introduced to the basic skills of Rugby through fun games and specific drills that will develop good running habits and overall fitness.


Practice Location: in front of Northwest Middle School on Pleasant Ridge.

Some Information about Rookie Rugby

Powell Rugby Club is proud to offer Rookie Rugby, a safe, non-contact, easy to play game for both boys and girls.

Rookie Rugby promotes:

Rookie Rugby is a continuous team-invasion game. It is easy to learn, encourages teamwork, and enhances athletic skills and fitness. As such, Rookie Rugby is very comlementary to other sports; increasing generic athletic skills such as:

  • balance,
  • coordination,
  • agility,
  • visual awareness,
    handling,
  • decision making,
  • and of course, core fitness.
